Japanese soprano Sawako Kayaki was born 1999.
She started her vocal education at the age of sixteen.
She studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts and at the International Opera Academy (IOA) in Ghent.
She sang leading roles in the IOA’s production of “Private View”,
and in “Lost & Found” by the Belgian composer, Annelies Van Parys. She is also an active interpret of Lied. Recently she was invited by the Oxford Lied Festival in Berlin.
This summer, 2022 she won the third prize and special prize in the competition “Franz Schubert und die Musik der Moderne”.
She got the first prize at the Internationaler Gesangswettbewerb Basel 2021.
Her operatic repertoire includes the roles of Lakmé in Lakmé (Delibes ), Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos ( R. Strauss ),
Die Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte (Mozart), Gilda in Rigoletto (Verdi), Morgana in Alcina ( Händel ), Ännchen in Der Freischütz
( Werber ), Blonde in Die Entführung aus dem Serail ( Mozart ), Oscar in Un ball in maschera
( Verdi ) etc.
She is currently on tour with the production of Il Barbiere di Siviglia as Rosina (soprano version), directed by Tom Goossens.

3歳よりバイオリンを始める。
東京藝術大学声楽科を経て、ベルギーのゲントにある
インターナショナルオペラアカデミー(IOA)で学ぶ。
IOA在学中には、ベルギーの作曲家アネリス・
ヴァン・パリスの新作オペラ「Private View」や「Lost & Found」の他、 多くのコンサートに出演。
卒業後はトム・ホーセンス演出、
ロッシーニ作曲の「De Barbier (セビリアの理髪師)」ロジーナ役でデビュー。 その他、ベルギー国立管弦楽団と共演、歌劇「こうもり」に出演等予定。
第11回「フランツ・シューベルトと現代音楽コンクール」で3位に入賞し、ジュディス・ウィアーの委嘱作品演奏における特別賞も受賞。
第1回バーゼル国際声楽コンクール第1位。
これまでに、田中由也、菅英三子、ディートリッヒ・ヘンシェルに師事。

Sawako Kayaki studierte an der Tokyo University of the Arts und an der International Opera Academy (IOA) in Gent.
Sie sang Hauptrollen in der IOA-Produktion „Private View“ und in „Lost & Found“ der belgischen Komponistin Annelies Van Parys.
Die vielseitige Sopranistin ist auch eine engagierte Liedinterpretin. Im Wettbewerb „Franz Schubert und die Musik der Moderne“ der Kunst-Uni Graz gewann sie u.a. den Sonderpreis für die beste Interpretation des Auftragswerkes des Wettbewerbs.
Beim internationalen Gesangswettbewerb in Basel 2021 erhielt sie den ersten Preis. Sie ist zurzeit in der Rolle der Rosina mit der belgischen Opernkompanie Transparant auf Tournee in einer Produktion der Oper „Il barbiere di Siviglia“. In Ihren nächsten Engagements wird sie als „Königin der Nacht“ in Mozarts Zauberflöte und als Adele in „Die Fledermaus“ von Johann Strauss zu hören sein.
